Day to day business
Not too long after becoming a full time photographer, I quickly learned it not all about just taking pictures any more. There is an entire new skill I had to learn... How to run a business.
Now with a photography business there are what I breakdown in to 3 parts:
Sales/Marketing
Sales
emailing
meetings
customer service
contracts
Marketing
social media
getting your name out there events
Research and Development
finding the next best thing
new ideas
next product to buy
Promotions
Production
Schedule/booking
Photoshoots
*actually taking pictures
prep work involved in taking pictures
set up for post processing
data management
Editing
Equipment maintenance
Finance
Receivable/Payable
Send Invoices
Pay bills
Payroll
Bookkeeping
Now, here is where the challenge starts. Certain parts of the year, help is easy to find and pay for, but as most businesses, there are busy times and not so busy times. I have systemized just about every single task that is needed to run the business so anyone can just drop right in and lend a hand, but I'm always capable of doing every task myself.
